Ayumi originally from Japan, grew up in Takarazuka city which is close to both food city, Osaka and pastry city, Kobe. After working at food manufacture company in Kobe and French cooking school, Le Cordon Bleu as Sales, she moved to NYC to complete culinary education at Natural Gourmet Institute. Back then she was not interested in baking at all but the only reason that she didn’t want to take subway after midnight in NYC, she took internship at bakery in Brooklyn, NY called One Girl Cookies which changed her life. She worked for them as pastry chef for 7 years and learned so many things about baking and bakery operation. After moved to Oregon, she worked at Red Star Tavern as Pastry cook, The Town Club and Imperial as Pastry chef to experience restaurant pastry before starting own business, Huggle Sweets.
